Fascinating Cars is a storytelling brand that focuses on cars and their owners. The car does not have to be a million-dollar vehicle or one that turns heads everywhere—it just needs to have a story to tell. Most of the time, the owner becomes part of that story as well.
It all started back in the blog start-up era in the mid-2000s. I, Peter—the owner of Fascinating Cars—wanted to create a blog where I could talk about my biggest passion: cars.
In the beginning, the blog was filled with new releases, unusual rebuilds, cool supercars, and anything else that felt fascinating in the world of cars.
After almost 1,000 posts, published every third day, I realized that chasing news in the car world was draining my passion. It became more about hunting for stories online than interacting with like-minded people.

In mid-2018 I took a new grip around the Fascinating Cars brand and start using my journalistic education and experience together with my photographic hobby-skills, to photograph and write about cars that had a story.
In January 2019 www.Fascinatingcars.se saw the daylight with two articles about Patriks Hard Core Patina Porsche 912 from 1967 and the story about the President of the Swedish Maserati Club.

Fascinating Cars is currently run as a passionate hobby project, driven by a strong desire to connect with cars that have a story to tell—and their owners, of course.
Hopefully, in the future, Fascinating Cars will become more than just an online car magazine.
There are plans for how the brand can become more integrated with the classic car community—such as a Fascinating Cars Garage, selling posters online, hosting photo sessions together with fellow car enthusiasts, and more.
The future will tell ...

Throughout my life, I have always had a love for cars.
My first memory of a car is when my stepfather let me sit on his lap as we “rally raced” down the dirt road to our house in a white Ford Cortina.
He confidently claimed that the car we were driving was the absolute best in the world for rallying. Naturally, I wholeheartedly believed him, convinced that this specific car reigned supreme and was the fastest in the entire rally circuit.
My belief persisted until that fateful day in adulthood when I came across a photograph of the car. To my surprise, it showed an ordinary, unpolished Ford Cortina of the simplest kind.
At first, I was a bit disappointed—but what the heck… it only made my interest in cars grow.

Our family were data “pioneers” because my father worked in IT from the very beginning. This meant that we always had the latest PC at home.
It was both fun and a bit frustrating. What could you really do with a PC in 1987?
Write, calculate, and play chess.
So after I had experimented with writing and numbers, and grown tired of chess, I had to find something more to do with the computer. After all, it was just sitting there.
I sat down and wrote a short letter along with a long list of questions.
That letter was later sent to the Swedish Porsche Club.

The letter sounded like this:
Hello,
My name is Peter Edenberg, and I am 12 years old.
I am interested in cars, and I think that Porsche is a very nice car.
I would like to know more about Porsche and about your club.
Sincerely,
Peter
The list of questions that was sent with the letter had a quality like this:
What is horsepower?
How fast can an engine spin?
How much air should there be in the tires?
It took two weeks, and then someone knocked on our front door. There stood Ulf Tolérus, the Vice Chairman of the Swedish Porsche Club.
He introduced himself, handed me tickets to the Swedish Car Fair that was about to take place in about a week, and told me that I was welcome to join the club’s various activities whenever I wanted.
When the Swedish Car Fair finally came around, I skipped school for the entire week, made my way across town, and wandered among the cars with a constant smile on my face—12 years old.
Over the next few years, I followed the Porsche Club to lectures, slalom competitions at Bromma Airport, track days at Mantorp, and much more.

During the Swedish Car Fair, Lasse Jönsson gave me a couple of minutes to enjoy one of the most iconic cars in the world - Porsche 959
I smiled all the time, every time I got to sit next to someone in a different Porsche or a classic car.
It made the gears of my interest in cars spin even faster.
After a few years, however, my life took a slightly different path, and my contact with Ulf gradually faded. Yet my passion for cars never disappeared.
Fascinating Cars later became and still is my outlet for that passion—and for connecting with Fascinating cars and their owners.

The far coolest driving experience in my world. Nascar at Las Vegas Speedway.
The craziest car ever driven:
Audi Quattro – tuned to around 800 hp
Most fun driving experience:
25 laps of NASCAR at Las Vegas Speedway
Biggest starstruck moment:
Meeting Lewis Hamilton in a grocery store at 11 PM on a Tuesday night in Los Angeles.
What do you even say in a moment like that? I gave him my compliments and told him that I was—and still am—a big fan.
Later that weekend, Lewis won the German Grand Prix at the Nürburgring.
Most enjoyable racing driver meeting:
Picko Troberg, a Swedish racing superstar in the 1960s.
Such an icon and a true character. I had the opportunity to spend time with him in his final years.
May you rest in horsepower, Picko.
Breathtaking moments:
1. Sitting alone in a Porsche 959 at 12 years old—the feeling of exclusivity, of being in a true supercar, and the dream of owning one someday.
2. Arriving at the Indy 500 for the first time and realizing just how massive the event is—and how enormous the track really is.
3. Monza track walk – every centimeter, every meter, every straight, and every corner is filled with racing history and stories.
Most enjoyable ride experience:
Getting a ride home with Rickard Rydell during fresh powder snow.
Rickard’s BMW M4 had only 1,500 km on the clock, and the car spent more time sideways than straight on the highways in the dark Swedish winter.
